American Boarding Kennels has been family-owned and operated since 1977!

Owned by Kathryn Newman Bornhofen and David Bornhofen since 2006, it is the largest pet care facility in the Augusta family. As owners of Augusta Dog Training, Kathryn and David are nationally known and highly respected dog trainers. Kathryn is also a regular featured Guest on Kare-11, the Twin Cities NBC affiliate.

American Boarding Kennels is known for its high-quality of pet care offering individual suites for overnight accommodations, a multitude of pet-approved activities such as group play, individual playtime, dog training, puzzle toys, cuddle time and grooming services.

Augusta Dog Training was established in 1996 with the inception of the in-home dog training business. Since then it has grown to five locations. In addition to American Boarding Kennels in Burnsville. Augusta Edina offers doggy daycare and professional grooming. Augusta Long Lake offers overnight care, group play, individual training and grooming, and has a large dog training academy that offers puppy through advanced family dog training classes. Augusta Montgomery is a training facility for extended stay board and train.
